Main Web VMware is the best virtual machine! VMware has free software (or very reasonably priced) for all platforms (Linux, Mac, and Win). Another nice feature about VMware is that you can do a whole lot with the free VMware Server and when you get to the point you need more management tools and a VMware supported platform (ESX) you can buy into the ESX system and easily manage or convert your existing VMware Servers over to ESX.
