Clonezilla is an excellent and low-cost (like free) recovery and bare-metal backup & recovery solution.  I have used it several times and it understands how to communicate with the DELL Perc RAID controllers.  You can image an enitire system and store it in a USB / eSATA drive (I actually store several different systems in one drive).
