[itdiscuss] A System Command To Accomplish a Flash Player Update?

Just be aware that PSI is only free for home use. Another nice tool is Ninite (www.ninite.com<http://www.ninite.com>). We've been using it for our image creation process where we only want a static load of available free install software (see the available software packages on the web site).
I'm also testing the fee based updater ($9.99 for a single with tiered pricing in volume). I can't tell you how it works yet as I've only been using it for a couple of weeks. I think that if it keeps me from seeing those update notices it just may be worth it. As far as I know, it doesn't yet have a centrally managed update source like you would find in WSUS.

This is an indirect answer to your question. Check out the Secunia PSI scanner, http://secunia.com/vulnerability_scanning/personal/. You can configure it to automatically keep machines up to date. Very useful. I'm using it on all my machines now. (PC only, unfortunately)

Subject: [itdiscuss] A System Command To Accomplish a Flash Player Update?
I would like to have users of Windows 7 to not be bothered with Flash pop-ups asking for an update. I see at this link<http://www.macromedia.com/support/documentation/en/flashplayer/help/settings_manager05.html#118377> you can uncheck "Notify me when an update to Adobe Flash Player is available". So now I need the other part: A system command that can be executed by Administrator to enable the Adobe Flash Player to be updated if one is available.
Does anyone know if such a command exists?
Thanks!
