You might want to take a look at Wowza Media Server. It's Java-based, so
will run on most platforms. Basic operation isn't especially difficult.
It gets into heavy programming when you start getting into deep
customization and extension of the program. Perpetual licenses run about
$750 for non-profits, or you can get a subscription license where you're
billed monthly based on how many instances you use. You also have the
option of running it on Amazon EC2.

At my church we are looking for a streaming server that isn't too costly
and doesn't take a programming to get it up and running.  We need it to
broadcast services to home bound members.  If at all possible, it would
good if it was Windows based and I'd love it if it was open-source.  Any
ideas?
