Dan,
Do you have the Shadow Copy turn on that drive on the server end? If yes, check and see how much space that is using, if you delete that, or clear some of the older copies that will free up space. What version of Exchange are you using?

Subject: [itdiscuss] Exchange Taking Unknown Drive Space
Folks,
A strange problem: I have 4 Exchange data stores on my server. They are segregated onto a DB array and a Log Files array, both separate from the C Drive. An examination of the file properties gives a total of about 37GB for the data store files (.edb) on the DB array, which is consistent with the backup size without compression. However, the Disk Management console says that 101GB is free (out of 250GB), and so reporting that this disk volume is somehow consuming 150GB instead of 37GB. How is this possible?
I have done everything I can to check for hidden/system files, including examining the individual file properties both from Windows and the command prompt. Anyone else have this issue? Any thoughts?
Dan
