[itdiscuss] Computer Remote Control a TV

This is somewhat an unusual request.  I have an A/V need for a computer (could be XP or Linux) to remote control a TV.  I basically need the ability to program a TV (universal) remote control to have a computer change the inputs and channels on a flat-screen TV.  Anyone know of such a device?
