[itdiscuss] Installing C: only programs on Citrix

It has been a long time since I have worked with Citrix, but as I recall
you have to tell Citrix to map the local Citrix client drive as C:. If
you don't, then it will be treated as if you were using a MS RDP client,
mapping the drive to the next available drive, if I recall correctly. I
don't know if you can prevent some clients from connecting to specific
servers or not. I think there are some third party applications that
can facilitate that type of function. This may help you:

Can you setup a particular Citrix server in a farm to not allow incoming
client connections?

Do you need the local workstation drive to map as C? If not, map the
workstation, the Citrix client, drive as another letter.

Guys,

I am hoping a Citrix person with experience can help me with this
question. When you install Citrix, part of the process is to remap the
server drives to a different drive letter, to allow for connection of
client C: drives...What this means is if you get a program that requires
installation on a C drive only, you have a serious problem. Such is my
case, with not one, but two programs.

Is there a work around for this? Can I publish a shortcut to another
server? Or do you have another suggestion?

Thanks!

Dan Barber
