As a matter of perspective...I do check my stats often to remind myself -- and more often, my peers -- that our SPAM filter is quite effect and is working far harder than anyone suspects.
The most recent stat reports shows that within the past 24 hours MY account:
- has had 1763 messages scanned
- had 1609 Junk Messages detected (91.26% of total)
- had 0 virus infected messages (good day...usually have at least a few!)
- 1609 problematic messages.
So, 154 emails made it past our PRE Exchange filter.
Of those 154 that got through, 26 were caught by our Antivirus/Antispam module on the local computer while Exchange/Outlook Junk Mail filtered 57 out.
of the 71 emails that made it TO me from the outside that day, only 12 were GOOD emails (were not advertisements that I allow from known vendors, ads I DON'T ask for from known vendors, junk from people who have me on their mass mailing list, etc.)
And believe me when I say that THAT is a LIGHT DAY for email!
Any one else live this life? (Bottomless emails)
