Julianna -

Microsoft modified IE7 this last month to make it available
to the entire world, so to speak, without having to go through
Microsoft's authentication process.  The version difference
you see on the new machine reflects the new 'upgrade' and most
likely reason you cannot get to selected web sites is because
they have not been entered into the "Trusted" web sites OR it's
because IE's security is set too high OR because they have been
firewalled.  I suspect the most likely candidate is the "Trusted"
web site issue.

If it's none of the above then the problem is something very
similar.
